New rulespace idea

I have new great idea for the rulespace. Here I will explain it.
Cells can be born if(amount) neighbours have(amount) neighbours and survive if (amout) neighbours have (amount) neighbours. There also can be written A in the meaning of ,,all".
Here is an example how it would ve written:
B(3478)4578/S(367)56/M1.
First numbers are amount of cell's neighbours,and second ones amount og cell's neighbour's neighbours.
There is also an extra M on the end. If M is 1,the cell will also count as a neighbour of its neighbours when it is counted will cell survive. If M is 0,it will not be counted.
I wonder if anyone can make script for this rulespace.
Have a good day!

This is known as a rulespace. A rulespace basically is a class of rules.

BTW you could make this into a thread for rulespaces.

Here's my rulespace:
They can be notated as BaaaSbbbPBcccSddd,
Where aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd are Hensel notation strings (e.g. 3-e67c),
And they evolve according to the following rules:
  • A state 0 cell:
    • Becomes a state 1 cell if it has state 2 cells in configuration x and x∈aaa
  • A state 1 cell:
    • Dies if it has state 2 cells in configuration x and x∉bbb
    • Becomes a state 2 cell if it has state 2 cells in configuration x and x∈ccc
  • A state 2 cell:
    • Becomes a state 1 cell if it has state 2 cells in configuration x and x∉ddd

I mentioned the "rulespace" issue in private mess ages, though.

Well, Ddo you know S0?(It means a cell has no neighboring cells will survive.)

I know,and it can be explained like ,,to survive,cell needs 0 neighbours with 012345678 neighbours".

Without brackets name is not legal. You may leave them bare,but cannot eliminate them.

He didn't get your namespace.

Wait for me to complete the Golly script that simulates this rulespace. It's on my not too long TODO list.

@yujh This is a semi-totalistic Larger than Life rulespace.

Very complex to implement
idea:
states:
  1. Main pattern
  2. dead with wrong neighbors for birth and right neighbors for survival
  3. dead with right neighbors for birth and wrong neighbors for survival
  4. dead right right
  5. live wrong wrong
  6. live wrong right
  7. live right wrong
  8. live right right
Two gens for one generation
rules:
  • 1=>
    • 5 if wrong neighbor count for survival and birth
    • 6 if wrong neighbor count for survival but right neighbor count for birth
    • same for 7, 8
  • 1=>
    • 2 if wrong neighbor count for survival but right neighbor count for birth
    • same for 3, 4
  • dead-cell=>1 if right count of cells with right neighbors for birth
  • live-cell=>0 if wrong count of cells with right neighbors for survival

I have an idea for a rulespace.
Maybe I'll call it regenerating generations.

The rulestring is rgN/lL/bB/sS/rbB1/rsS1 where N is the number of states, B is the birth condition, S is the survival condition, B1 is the second birth condition, S1 is the second survival condition and L is a state number.
For example, rg3/l1/b3/s23/rb4/rs5

Here is how it works:

If cell is dead:
  • If B is satisfied:
    • Cell becomes state L
  • else:
    • Cell stays dead
If cell is alive:
  • If S is satisfied:
    • Cell stays alive
  • else:
    • Cell becomes Dying 1
If cell's state is dying n:
  • If B1 is satisfied:
    • Cell becomes Dying (n - 1) or Alive
  • elif S1 is satisfied:
    • Cell stays at Dying n
  • else:
    • Cell becomes Dying (n + 1) or Dead

Correct me if I am wrong.
Also what are you going to name your rulespace?

I have explored some rules in this rulespace with my application here: https://conwaylife.com/forums/viewtopic ... 423#p95423
These rules are in the rules folder of the application.

The rule B(3,4,6,11)2,6,7/S(3,6,8,12)2,3,9,12/5 (Generations) uses neighbourhood weights (M is 1):
1 2 1
2 3 2
1 2 1

11c/68 Spaceship

Code: Select all

x = 31, y = 24, rule = GenerationsBokaBB_Rule_2
31.$31.$31.$31.$4.A26.$4.A26.$3.C.A25.$2.CD.A25.$5.C25.$7.CD22.$4.C2.2D22.$8.B22.$5.C2DA22.$6.B2A4.C9.A7.$6.2C5.B9.2A6.$13.DBC6.BCBA5.$22.A2C6.$22.D.DC5.$24.2D5.$23.2D6.$31.$31.$31.$31.1$!
P7 Oscillator

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 13, rule = GenerationsBokaBB_Rule_2
14.$6.A7.$6.A7.$5.ACA6.$4.B3DB5.$3.AD3.DA4.$.2ACD.C.DC2A2.$3.AD3.DA4.$4.B3DB5.$5.ACA6.$6.A7.$6.A7.$14.1$!

1 2 1
2 0 2

The rule B(3,5,6)2,6,7/S(3,6,8)2,3/M1 (Single State) uses the Range 1 Moore Neighbourhood:

It has a Diagonal 1c/1 and c/2 spaceship

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 8, rule = BokaBB_Rule_1
7.$7.$7.$3.A3.$.2A.A2.$7.$7.$7.1$!

P3, P6, P12

Code: Select all

x = 65, y = 19, rule = BokaBB_Rule_1
65.$65.$65.$65.$65.$65.$65.$6.A.A44.A11.$52.2A11.$7.A21.A35.$29.3A20.A12.$6.A.A18.2A.2A20.A.A10.$28.2A.2A32.$28.3A34.$30.A34.$65.$65.$65.$65.1$!

Also waiting for Hunting to finish the golly script so that I can simulate the rules in Golly.
Btw, I was hoping that the rulespace could be given a name.
