I found this methuselah quite recently. It becomes stable after 6819 generations,at a population of 2305, of which simple structures found include 24 gliders, and to-be-counted blocks, blinkers, beehives, loafs, ponds, and tubs. Complex objects include 12 traffic lights, an interchange, 3 half-interchanges, a fleet, 3 honey farms, and various uncounted others, such as third-interchanges and half-honey farms.
For some reason, the initial state won't carry over to my computer yet, and I haven't quite worked out the viewer yet, so here's the downloadable RLE from https://copy.sh/life.

Umm... you need to paste the run length encoding into the viewer tag

how do I find that?

paste the rle file into tags
Also unless this methuselah is particularly tiny it probably isn't that novel :(
but idk since I don't have your starting pattern since you haven't attached it and the link you supplied links to one of the gunstars rather than a methuselah

I tried that, but will do again, and add the initial state, more or less, asap.

The settings used for copy.sh/life Randomizer were 200*200, density 0.5.

Figured it out!

You're right, moosey. Ah well.

This still looks like the final pattern, not the initial seed. However, if the original was really 200x200, you'll easily be able to find much smaller starting states that last much longer than 6819 ticks.

Well, it is the sandbox here.
Nothing wrong.

I would say that this is more of a "explosion" than a "methuselah". Methuselahs are usually small and long-lived.

That depends on the rule, though. E. g. methuselah found:

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B2n3/S23-q

‘Nope!’

Haha. Yep, it's Nope.

This count?
