This rule is very similar to another one of my posted rules, except that it supports the glider. Most patterns here settle down into large blobs with oscillators on the outside, but infinite growth is possible with just 3 gliders and also with just 10 cells. Both are related. Here are the gliders:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 17, rule = B3678/S0235678
8bobo$9b2o$9bo8$19b2o$19bobo$19bo2$bo$b2o$obo!
10 cells:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 8, rule = B3678/S0235678
7bo$6b3o$7bo3$3o$2bo$bo!
A lot of p2 Life oscillators are also possible in this rule, but once you get going to p3 and above, they become increasingly rare. The rotor for a p4 oscillator works, but its stator doesn't. EDIT: Both the rotor and the stator for the Clock II and the Catherine Wheel work.

I've toyed with this rule in the past; I'd expect some fairly simple (one time) logic gates.

Using ntzfind is so much fun! A p2 glider from asymmetric settings appeared:

Code: Select all

#C ntzfind 3.0 by "zdr", Matthias Merzenich, Aidan Pierce, and Tomas Rokicki, 24 February 2018

No more necroposting please. Good ship though.
