This rule has birth on >1 diagonal neighbor, as well as >1 orthogonal neighbor. It also has 5 other birth conditions and a whole bunch of survival conditions.

It has pretty interesting oscillators of periods:

P2:

Code: Select all

x = 28, y = 5, rule = dolife
o3bo4b2o4bo2bo4b2o$o4bo5bo3b4o2bo2bo$o7b2o11b2obob2o$11bo4bo7bob2o$9b
2o6bo6b2o!
P3:

Code: Select all

x = 30, y = 6, rule = dolife
2o6b2o6b2o5b2o2b2o$o7b2o6b2o5bo3b2o$2bo15bo6bo$4bo4bob2o6b2o5b4o$3b2o
2bo3b2o2bo3b2o5bo2bo$7b2o6b2o!
P4:

Code: Select all

x = 23, y = 8, rule = dolife
b2o4b2o5b2o5b2o$b2o4b2o6bo5b2o$o12bo$2bo5bo5b2o4bo$b2o6bo4b2o5bo$12bo$
6b2o4b2o5b2o$6b2o11b2o!
P8:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 5, rule = dolife
b3o2$obo$bobo$2bo!
P12:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 8, rule = dolife
o2bo$o2bo$o2bo3$o2bo$o2bo$o2bo!
And P18:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = dolife
3o$2bo$2bo!
It also has several gliders:

The p2 c/2 orthogonal "cap":

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = dolife
b2o$o$b2o!
It can pull a blinker tagalong:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = dolife
3o2$b3o$b3o!
This slightly bigger p16 c/2 orthogonal ship, "dart":

Code: Select all

x = 17, y = 3, rule = dolife
bo2b2o5bo4bo$o3b2o3bo2bo3bo$bo2b2o5bo4bo!
However, the right part is just a very big spark, removing it doesn't hurt the shit:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 3, rule = dolife
bo2b2o$o3b2o$bo2b2o!
Sure enough, it can pull a blinker:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 5, rule = dolife
bo2b2o$o3b2o$bo2b2o4bo$10bo$10bo!
p15 c/5 ship "jellyfish":

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 4, rule = dolife
2o2b3o$o3b3o$o3b3o$2o2b3o!
The only known diagonal ship, p6 c/6 diagonal "seagull":

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = dolife
2o$b2o$2b2o$3bo!

The patterns are for dolife and you provided dolife2.
As a consequence the p18 doesn't work, and

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = dolife2
3o$obo$3o!
is a p10.

Fixed, now shows both rules

Looking at the jellyfish, this phase and the six after it lead me to believe that there is an even-width c/2 somewhere. Do you have the non-totalistic gfind?

Sadly, no. Also yeah, I noticed that it might have a beehive front end.
