WARNING
THIS RULE IS VERY TRIPPY AND NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH SEIZURES
This rule is very cool, and very trippy as well, it makes mazes that invert themselves each generation, there are 2 known gliders:
This one is c/8 orthogonal
Code: Select all
x = 4, y = 3, rule = B028/S0124
bobo$3bo$o2bo!
this one is c/4 diagonal
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 2, rule = B028/S0124
2o$bo!
this rule also has a one-cell oscillator (p2):
Code: Select all
x = 1, y = 1, rule = B028/S0124
o!
and two cell (p4):
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 2, rule = B028/S0124
o$bo!
here is a predecessor of an infinitely growing maze:
Code: Select all
x = 3, y = 3, rule = B028/S0124
b2o$obo$2o!
these mazes can also have oscillators in them

Mildly interesting p2:
Code: Select all
x = 6, y = 6, rule = B028/S0124
bo$3bobo$b3o$2b3o$obo$4bo!
Smaller chaos seed than the ship:
Code: Select all
x = 4, y = 3, rule = B028/S0124
3bo$2o$bo!
Really not much of interest in this rule, unfortunately.

Small asymmetric chaos seed.

Nice! I didn't think a high period spaceship would be found, as this rule won't allow brute force searching due to its expanding nature.
Edit: but I may be wrong!!

gsearch can be used in exploding rules. If the pattern gets too big it just tries a different random pattern.

good to know. I guess gsearch works because only part of small random soups explode. In a rule like LFoD gsearch seems to be useless, and I'm guessing that's because almost every soup explodes despite trying different patterns.

Me too! Those are also not listed on the fano.ics.uci.edu database
