The Concept is descripted in the table.

Code: Select all

@RULE ElderlyLife

# This rule consists of youths and elderlies.
# Aging stands for youths turning to elderlies. (op. Antiaging)
# Elderlies can't make offsprings well, and they prefer other elderlies than youth for friend.
# So, they are considered half an youth.
# State 1: Youth, State 2: Elderly

Save this code as ElderlyLife.rule

There occurs so many still lifes, but I didn't find any oscillators or other patterns. Can you find them?
Also, This rule runs so slowly in Golly. This rule table needs improvement.
There can be errors in the table. I'd be glad if you correct any error! :)

EDIT: Well, there are some oscillators:
P3:

Code: Select all

A seminatural p12 that doesn't look like anything in CGOL.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 3, rule = ElderlyLife
.AB.A$A.B.A$A.BA!

@towerator: That may be the most common oscillator in this rule! I noted that most soups evolve into a hodgepodge of grotesque still lifes, like the one below. This behavior certainly doesn't reflect Life.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 4, rule = ElderlyLife
.2B$BA.2B$BA.AB$.2B!

This is a very still pattern.
And I think most old cells would be perfectly happy to be with a young one. At least it would increase dynamism.
