Resistor in WireWorld

Post by Rhombic »

This resistor in WireWorld CA only lets one of each two electrons that are created constantly to pass.
For the next code:
First group: without resistor, electrons constantly created.
Second group: with resistor, half of the previous electrons are removed.
Third group: the resistor itself.

Code: Select all

x = 73, y = 29, rule = WireWorld

One problem with the 'resistor': sending only one electron causes it to turn into a period 4 signal generator which is definetly not what a resistor should do.

Now... that's true. has anyone tried to create an actual resistor? Is it even possible in WW?

It is actually p3, isn't it?

Here is a true resistor in WireWorld:

Code: Select all

x = 85, y = 10, rule = WireWorld
74.3C$73.C3.C$72.4C.C$72.C2.2C.C$72.4C3.C$73.C4.3C$A7CBA7CBA25CBA7CBA
16CBA.2C3.C$76.C.C.5C$C8.C8.C8.C8.C8.C8.C8.C8.C3.C.C$77.C!
There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.
