Well TTS pronounced it Calseeman but I think it's Kal Kee Man because the Calcy is like "calculation".

My name is tough to pronounce for Mericans. For an approximation, pronounce it sock-a but that's still wrong. I can't find any words with the correct A sound. I call it "plain a".

Does anybody pronounce gmc_nxtman as jee-em-see Next man?

When I've talked to people who know Goucher personally they've always used a "ch" sound rather than a "sh". So I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "ch" unless we've all been saying it wrong!

I PMed him myself back in November but he hasn't replied yet.
Maybe it's pronounced something completely different.
I'll pronounce it Gouscher for now as a compromise :P

I seem to recall a wiki page writing the pronunciation as "goo-SURE" (so /guːˈʃɚ/), but strangely I can't find it anymore...
ignore the edit count sorry
One more: I do say Calcyman with a hard second C, by the way

I pronounce it /eɪpiɻiɒdɪk/ myself so at least it's not for American. (It's the sound English calls the "long a" but is closer to an e sound in pretty much every other language)

Probably the problem is Americans (except for my particular dialect?) pronouncing the A at the end of words as a schwa.

I assume the name is 'actually' pronounced just as [saka] (vowel length doesn't appear to be phonemic in Malay/Indonesian?) -- so you're right about the schwa, but the first /a/ poses a problem as well. The usual english rendition of it would probably come out as [sɑːkə] or [sʌːkə]

I could help, because we're both from Poland, me and Andrzej (Andrew), but to show how to pronouce his name, I would have to record my voice, and I don't want to do that. I even don't know how to make the audiofile with my voice in the first place! But don't tell me how to do it, because I don't need it.
