Seems possible. I'll leave it to someone better at ruletables then me, though.
Found it.

How Do You Come Up with Good City Names?

Post by DioneTDavis »

Hello
I'm creating a fictional world and I'm having trouble naming one of my main cities. I want the name to feel unique and match the city's atmosphere, but every idea I've tried sounds either too generic or doesn't fit the setting.

How do you usually come up with memorable city names? Do you base them on real languages, historical influences, or just combine words until something feels right?

I'd love to hear your naming tips or creative process. Thanks!

Hello!
Is this supposed to be CA related, or have you come just to ask?
I don't have any experience coming up with city names, so I can't really help.

I’m confused. Is this user a spambot? If not, why does their first post have nothing to do with CA?

Not one I know, but it looks like a simplified version of the soup based XXXXM Methuselahs (?) like 52513M.

@1and0nlycordershippr and @LittleLWSS, please don't send miscellaneous pattern to a thread.

That particular account is. The user is still here under a different name (I'm not sure which because it keeps changing and it's not always consistent between here, the wiki, and Discord).

Call me xp2 or Aleph. "wwei47"/"Prime Raptor21" are anachronisms at this point.
EDIT: To be 100% clear: I no longer want to be referred to by either of the latter names.

Not sure where to put this, but I need to clarify that there are several mentions of Aleph, referring to a fictional character created by xp2 (why both the user and the character are named the same thing is a long story not worth getting into) before this username change. I wanted to put this here so that moderators don’t retroactively delete mentions of said fictional character assuming they refer to the user and citing “no jokes about other users”.

Does Still Life Work Together?

Post by HarrietteGFletcher »

This post was originally in its own thread in the Sandbox. I banned the user because it's pretty clear it's https://conwaylife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7329. --hotdogPi

Hi everyone,

I've been experimenting with Still Life and was wondering how well it works alongside Structure, Mob, Crop, and other gameplay features.

Has anyone tested these combinations in different situations? Do they work smoothly together, or are there any conflicts or unexpected behaviors?

I'd love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have before I spend more time experimenting.

Thank you so much! :)

I was considering starting a real discussion about this under other CA, but for now I will just post it here:

https://html-preview.github.io/?url=htt ... lorer.html

It's a Claude-coded "explorer" for finding Gray-Scott parameters. It came out of my frustration finding interesting pairs of parameters. Originally I though I would do this in Python but Claude went ahead and wrote Javascript. I can't vouch for accuracy. It matches my Python code though. It is pretty easy to use. Just click on a thumbnail and it will zoom in on a new set.
