Seems in Pedestrian Life, Herschel is always from B-heptomino, but B-heptomino is always from R-pentomino. Should we also write R-pentomino on it?

The B-heptomino, just as in life, doesn't have to come from an R-pentomino in Pedestrian Life. The R-pentomino just so happens to produce a B, but it is not the only way (same with the Herschel emerging from B-heptomino)

I have posted something on the talk page of P32 blinker hassler 2. Quoting it:

c/4 orthogonal wrote:The first higher period c/4 orthogonal spaceship was discovered by David Bell in September 2000. It had a period of 20 and consisted of a block puffer found by Jason Summers and a side sparker used to delete the blocks. In the following month Summers found period 8 and 12 spaceships based off of a failed blinker puffer and a spaceship with a forward domino spark. Several other periods were achieved by perturbing the output of a period 168 puffer discovered by Paul Tooke in November 2003.

The description in the 'c/4 orthogonal' LifeWiki article is not quite right.

I remember finding the c/4 period 20 block puffer by adding a block and perturbing spaceships to the back of a period 4 spaceship found by Jason Summers.

Jason Summers then found a sparking spaceship which can delete the blocks to make a period 20 spaceship.

Here is the description and spaceship from the 'ships-c4o-hp.lif' file in jslife.

Hello, I found an account that is spam and should be deleted - 'gbwhatapps'
They have these fake government job links to make it seem like they are legit, but when I hovered over the 'website' I found it was a download link. Could be malicious, should be removed. Also, they were only online for 1 minute before leaving, and that is the only time they have been online.

Doublepost, but it's been 2 months already.
If I see that a pattern in say, one of the hassler pages, and find a simple reduction for it, should I replace the original pattern with the new reduced version or keep the original for historical purposes?

For example, this version of Bill Gosper's p24 TL hassler is 1 cell smaller:

Code: Select all
