Deleting one of the four cells produces either a domino or a single cell. From there, a domino spark can be attacked with one live cell placed on one corner of the domino, producing another domino spark. Thus, GG.

The attacking team can add a cell to get another glider you know

That is, if the roles have been switched as it seems to be (the defending is supposed to make the pattern not a spark or diehard) EDIT: wait you are on team b, the attacking team that is supposed to ADD CELLS

Actually, no -- the defending team is supposed to protect the pattern from the attackers.

omg I just edited a post when you responded. also, not making a pattern a diehard or spark is defending it from the attackers. anyway, that move was not allowed as the attacking team is not allowed to remove cells EDIT: WAIT NVM I GOT CONFUSED LETS JUST FORGET ABOUT THIS

Not necessarily - making it a spark doesn't necessarily help the attackers unless they can exploit that spark to their advantage.

We seem to keep on getting our posts and edits overlapped when my edits are just me clearing a misunderstanding I realized. Anyway, as the defenders can't win in this game state, I shall start the next game:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = LifeHistory
2b4o$bob3o$b2o$b2o2bo$ob2o$2ob2o!
EDIT: also, what is the defending team's score?

I wish I was on the attacking team, I found a quickly dying move.

Team A: 0
Team B: 5
Next, Team A defends while Team B attacks.

Since I am on team B, I will attack (not using Βεν's suggested new pattern):

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 5, rule = LifeHistory
2.A.A$4.A$ACA.A$2.2A$.A!
