Some miscellaneous work-in-progress notes:

Pseudorandom patterns that are generated to contain only cells of states 0, 1, 4 often make apgsearch pause for minutes and/or consume lots of memory (worse than if it was one of cellstates 2, 3, 5 rather than the cellstate 4).

I don't know what each of these initial configurations eventually settles into. The "final pattern" might be a stationary constellation of some period + finitely many escaping spaceships (most or all of which are going to be instances of the glider 3736), or the "final pattern" might be an infinite growth.

recently noticed something interesting about B3/S237: the LWSS works normally, but the MWSS becomes a beehive, and the HWSS rapidly evolves into a
block and a couple blinkers. Anyone know any other rules where some the xWSSs work, but the others don't?
