Guessing that the intent was to have weights from 1 to 9 (?), you would need to use two hexadecimal digits per neighbour, otherwise unfortunately it gets misinterpreted.

Code: Select all

Guessing that the intent was to have weights from 1 to 9 (?), you would need to use two hexadecimal digits per neighbour, otherwise unfortunately it gets misinterpreted.

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 11, rule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
2b7o$b9o$b10o$11o$12o$11o$12o$b10o$2b10o$3b7o$5b5o!
i think the misinterpretation is a bug, but i was interested in the rule itself and not neccesarily the neighborhood.

SLS is abbreviation of ScratchLifeSearch which is in pre-alpha development by me written using Scratch (technically a programming language because ScratchJR isn't). SLS is supposed to combine brute-force search (as in lifesrc) and soup search together. The end product will be converted into HTML file, which is widely multiplatform.
Where can I access it? (SLS, not Scratch)

I haven't shared it yet, need to optimize the simulator.

Will both a normal Scratch and a HTML version be available?
How can I contribute to it after it gets done? (maybe Codeberg?)

I would compile the HTML version after I release the Scratch version. I would also release the source code (project file) of ScratchLifeSrc.

About challenge 2:
The chance of finding a barcode as a C1 16x16 soup is 2^16/2^(16*16) or 1 in 2^240. It is almost impossible to find a C1 16x16 soup that is a barcode.

conversion of cgol to piano
bb - C
bo - D
ob - E
oo - F
to signify a $ in the middle, put an G after it
to signify a $ at the end, put an A after it
so a glider would be
DACFGF
the lwss would be
EDGCCFACDADFE

those sound kinda good, i guess i could vibe to those

converting music into cgol is a little trickier.
since the note B isnt use at all, we can just not use it.
G and As can pile up, so we only use the first one

now for our first song: mary had a little lamb
EDCDEEEDDDEFFEDCDEEEEDDEDC

Code: Select all

obbobbboobobobboboboobooooobbobbboobobobobboboobbobb!
a traffic light. not too exciting
well. since there is a width of 50 in this pattern, we can just splice them up by 7! sure it might not be the original song when you convert it back, but B is already weird like that.

Code: Select all

obbobbb$oobobob$boboboo$booooobb$obbboob$obobobb$oboobbo$bb!
a spark, huh?
even the inverse is more exciting with a traffic light.
maybe we spliced it wrong?

Code: Select all

obbobb$boobobo$bbobobo$obooooob$bobbboo$bobobob$boboobb$obb!
beehive.
yet again, the inverse is more exciting with a pi + tub = 2 gliders + block reaction.

well, if yall can find anything good from a song converting into cgol, let me know! :D
