It was probably invented that way. It's pretty natural to think of corners, then edges, and etc.

And further more, it helped me a lot when rule-golfing: "cekainy" is pronounceable!

They're not orthogonal spaceships. Dave Greene's 2017 Orthogonoid is 16c/217251, however, which is 2.40x slower than c/5648.
Oops, how did I forget they were not orthogonal... :oops:

Once I randomly filled, I forgot, a 10x10 soup, I think, and it only made a big S. Just a big S, nothing else. You'll have to take my word since I lost it though... I think another 10x10 big s producing soup won't be too hard to find with a simple Golly search script, though.

Yeah, it's cool that you can quickly open a pattern within the same window as the forums (And not have to open golly)! Or are you referring to the style/design? The blues theme is nice.

here is a 5*5 soup that has the Queen Bee Shuttle -

needs the block to stabilize, though, and it's clean.

Code: Select all

x = 20, y = 5, rule = B3/S23
15b2obo$2o13bo2b2o$2o13b5o$15bobo$16b4o!

and maybe you already have the 16*16 soup that makes a Loafer :

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 16, rule = B3/S23

if you check my signature, you find a glider reacting with a traffic light and three blocks

to make the big S my last initial; a still life, with a still life period, a block

and a pulsar for my first initial, O; an oscillator, with an oscillating period, a blinker

my life changed radically when I found this, looking thru Fire&Ash...

Ouch, I also don't really like history, especially if it's "recent" history (Usually things like World Wars and especially Independence). Ancient history is pretty interesting to me though. Maybe because there are less specific dates :P
