Fun fact: if your curiosity about other forum members and their life exceeds your curiosity about Life/CA stuff (reactions, patterns, rulesets, rulespaces, concepts, algorithms, ideas), then you might be in a wrong place.

These are the criteria a rule needs to satisfy to be a "Day and Knight" rule:
  • It must be self-complementary, just like Day and Night
  • It must have a (preferably natural) knightship or oblique ship.
  • It must not be explosive, just like Day and Night
So far 6 Day and Knight rules have been discovered. Some are more interesting than others. [...]

Reviving this thread.

I've heard rumors of some "31c/240o" spaceship in the works. Is this it? I'm a bit confused about it, but this may be a leak.

Please move this to The Sandbox.

EDIT by dvgrn: This post was the first response to a rather cryptic announcement by blah (before it was de-crypted by editing in more detail) of a complete and very nicely documented 32-bit CPU that definitely did NOT belong in the Sandbox.

It occurred to me that I could fulfill this request exactly as it was stated.
