There is this interesting volatility-1 p48 that came from soup (look a gen 24 for a surprise):

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 5, rule = B2i3/S2-c3-c4-aeqrw
6o$6o$6o2$bo2bo!
[[ STOP 24 ]]
Also this p7, which looks like a pentadecathlon being hassled by 4 blocks:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 14, rule = B2i3/S2-c3-c4-aeqrw
bo5bo$2o5b2o2$3b3o$3b3o$3b3o3$3b3o$3b3o$3b3o2$2o5b2o$bo5bo!
Also, I found a drifter p9 that is not in soup:

Code: Select all

If you add the transition S5y, you can make a wickstretcher based on the above engine:

Also, since this is two-state range-1 Moore and the weighted neighbourhood is isotropic, it must be possible to write the rule in Hensel notation. However, I bet the resulting rulestring is going to be less intuitive than the weighted neighbourhood notation.

Is Determination notable enough for a thread? See my user page for info.

I suggest that you provide a link to the page describing the rule, so that others do not have to search for it.

The question is, do you expect alot of discussion of this rule? Most such-and-such-rule threads so far end up getting just few replies, and then sink away from the first page for a long time if not forever. Likely because it is natural for people discovering things to overestimate their interestingness/potential in terms of future exploration and discussion.

Even really notable rules often get little attention. Not giving specific examples because I don't want to, but it should be easy to find multiple examples of interesting unexplored rules, just by looking through the many pages of this subforum.
