First question ever. Often referred to as The Question. When this question is asked in right place in right time, no one can lie. No one can abstain. But when The Question is asked, silence will fall. Silence must fall. The Question is: Doctor Who?
The negative "12 pentaminos"
No generation here just a little headache
Maybe can exist in 19 * 10 even surelly very difficult 18 * 10 (with total white squares around black negative pantominos!
Have fun puzzling!
Finally one 18*10 of 12 negative pentaminos! Last headache because seems not possible in 17 * 10 !
and 2024 Generations and one LWSS producted at 1365 right up
Last headache because seems not possible in 17 * 10 !
By considering half-tiles, we can fit the negative pentominos in a box of dimensions x*y only if (x-1)(y-1) >= 143. For 17*10, we have 144 >= 143, so this argument does not immediately disprove the existence of such a packing. However, the bound is very tight, and means that you're allowed no more than one 2*2 'block' of non-polyomino-ness.
Hence, I am inclined to agree with you.
