Your question is a multifaceted one, but a short answer is that this forum thread was originally intended as my Sandbox thread for specifically non-random and non-arbitrary patterns, not necessarily patterns created by myself, and (mostly but not strictly necessary) patterns involving gliders.

One problem is that the first post in the thread didn't explain what the thread is for. That is partially compensated by the early conversation in the thread (see the first few posts).
Beginning somewhere in January 2025, the thread was spammed with several consecutive posts which didn't belong here in the first place, and which look much more like "random posting".
I don't particularly care about this thread being locked, if anything, locking it would be better than allowing people to necropost here from time to time with offtopic stuff that was never meant to belong here.
While might be redundant (given the above), it still seems worth noting directly and explicitly that "roleplays" in particular are strictly offtopic in this forum thread.
