Should we remove /ə/ then?I didn't quite understood what you meant with ,,Okay.". If not,we need a way to write it. Maybe a digraph?
Yes, let's remove it.

The links with the pronunciations of the rare sounds MUST be in the spreadsheet.
Added.

I think we need to make at least some words, just to mark that we began this seriously.
Not necessarily. For Hunting's project we didn't make any words or affixes until around page 5.
Okay if you say so.
Let's discuss some phonotactics.
Have a good day!

What about write tones like this?
á = high tone
a = low tone
aá = rising tone
áa = falling tone
/a/ = a
/e/ = e
/i/ = i
/o/ = o
/u/ = u
/b/ = b
/c/ = c
/d/ = d
/f/ = f
/g/ = g
/j/ = j
/k/ = k
/l/ = l
/m/ = m
/n/ = n
/p/ = p
/r/ = r
/s/ = s
/t/ = t
/ʈʂ/ or /tʃ/ = ch?
/v/ = v
/x/ = h?
/ɣʷ/ = w?

I don't think anything special yet,but let's ask people.
You made mistake with /k/. It will be k,sure.
Instead of x we now have a similar sound with some w above. We shall label it x and /ɣ/ with w shall be written as y.
I have no problem with the rest.
Have a good day!

Fixed typo with /k/, but the sound /ɣʷ/ sounds closer to /w/ for me.
This system of tones was used by Láadan:
Code: Select all
á = high tone
a = low tone
aá = rising tone
áa = falling tone

But we also have /w/ and x is actually x with w above.

I didn't know we already have /w/.

I don't think we should have both /w/ and /ɣʷ/. They sound too similar.

But I am not sure will the language still be natural - like.

What do you think, should this language be monosyllabic or not?

I've heard good things about using sound changes to make a naturalistic conlang. Maybe we should try that here.

Probably we should try that.
Do you accept Entity Valkyrie 2's suggestions?
Also, what is your native language? You either never said that or I forgot.
Have a good day!

In the tonal languages often not all words are tonal. Even Chinese has some non-tonal words.
