Ok, can we get started on designing the combustion CA?
Yes!
Can you visit my project Country CA?
Have a good day!

Yes, I saw that too. I will post there. I think the combustion CA should have heat.
Heat and energy are definitely needed if you ask me,altrough they shouldn't be like athoms.Heat and energy are needed in some reactions and they are often released or used too and they are needed because of that. I think the second edition is going to need nitrogen.
Have a good day!

I think heat should move through atoms by contact and through space by radiation. A certain temperature will be needed to start a certain reaction.

How should it spread by radiation? Maybe hotter atoms can release higher energy photons?

Maybe something like that or something similar to your proposals in Building A Human Body. I am not sure but I think hotter things move faster.

I don't think they should move faster. That would cause weird problems. Heat should only be a method a starting reactions.

A chemical CA involving heat will inevitably have WAYYYYY too many states. Imo keep it as simple as possible at least at first

I don't think that chemicals should react with every other chemical at all times though . If we want some elements to be less reactive than others, we could rephrase that as those elements need to be hot to react. Likewise, we can say that reactive elements don't need a lot of energy to react. I don't know how many states that will use, but I think it's worth a try. Maybe with the combustion CA we can not use it, because there's essentially only one type of reaction, but if we make it more complex we need heat.

Keep things simple first. For example, first create a CA with two atoms and no bonds and no heat and no reactions. They just moves.

I think it should have bonds but no reactions. We could test how they should collide and bounce off each other.

Simple first. We need to test how simple particles collide and bounce. Then complex "particles".

Fine, but then bonds. I think there should be different states for atoms travelling in different directions instead of there being a "tail" state. That would just make collisions hard because you have to do something with the tail too. It would also be bad for molecules.

Yes. Then what? I think we could use a model like Snakes (Rule Table Rule).

The rule in the Golly rule table repository? I don't really know how it works. I just know that the snakes behave randomly.

Randomly? There's no such thing called random (said Freywa). It's a pseudo random 1D CA.

They should bounce off each other as of now, because there are no bonds.
