However, adding the p14 oscillator is far from being "an unnecessary distraction" here. The purpose of adding the p14 is to make a nontrivial least-common-multiple oscillator with period 238, which becomes the SKOP238 (the smallest known nontrivial oscillator of period 238, measuring by the minimum population), and this forum thread is specifically about SKOPs.
