Is there a better backend to the pufferfish than the MWSS in this rule? (Left is minimum following distance, right is position for minimum population)

Code: Select all

x = 21, y = 22, rule = B38/S23

What is the maximum width for a 2c/7 spaceship search that has been done for each symmetry?

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 7, rule = B2cek3-cjk4cjkq5ijn6i7e8/S1c2-an3q4aqt5ejn6ei

No amount of fallback will be adequate. If you try to place another spark 7 generations later, it will interfere with the glider, so a lower-period replacement sparker will need to interact nondestructively with the outgoing glider. Since p7 is too high to reliably search at, you are more likely to find a solution at p5. Here is a partial result (found with LLS) showing that a p5 solution is possible:

Code: Select all

How about a p35 duoplet instead?

EDIT: The reason I am into this is because the p35 gun from life fails here, so providing a new example of a p35 gun would provide a new gun for this rule.

Is there maybe a way to suppress this glider. Effectively no standard life dependent conduit works for this purpose, and the result would be a cool B8 splitter

Unrelated to previous discussion, an almost completion for another p45 gun, fails due to the domino forming via V-spark. Is there a way Tanner's p45 or a different sparker could work? (note it is completed with Karel's p15 in life, so it could work at p15)

Is there any chance in stabilizing this b-heptomio based puffer from catagolue into a 39c/589 diagonal ship? This would definitely be a new speed but the puffer is very messy so if might be quite large if stabilized.

Part of the reason I did not post it there is because it is such a long shot to begin with and solving it if even possible will probably clutter that thread.

I guess it might be notable instead that it works in B38/S23 with slightly altered evolution (can't really see a use for it now in an alien oscillator or otherwise yet, but it can eat R-pentominos from the conduits that output them in this rule)

The natural oblique ship is almost extendable. It just needs one block per engine suppressed for the engines in the not on the ends of the ship.

Code: Select all

x = 65, y = 41, rule = B38/S23

The I-heptomino is a surprisingly active methuasleh in Pedestrian Life, lasting 1474 generations (over 300 more than the R in life) and producing more waste & more gliders than Life's R-pentomino

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 5, rule = B38/S23

It could be a good reaction to check if anyone is searching for alien oscillators here
Currently working to improve Life's guns and work on updating SKOPs and Isotropic rules most similar to B3/S23 to Life standards. Will get software to begin searches eventually.
