Can these be SMOShed?

Most likely no in that exact rule.
But most likely yes if you want the same ships but in another rule.

Would anyone be interested in finding me a clue as to obtaining the diagonal ship in repsplosion once and for all?

1. What rule is repslosion?
2. What speeds have been searched, and to what distance?

Repsplosion is my favorite rule and is B3/S23|B34/S134. There are 3 known speeds (c/2o, c/4o, & c/6o) and i REALLY want a diagonal ship. Only c/4o has been searched so far as to my knowledge except on the catalog.
Edit:
Indeed, could possibly any of you
Help me, in finding a clue
In achieving the ship I know to be true,
With an offset of 1, 1 in this very rule
B3/S23|B34/S134
There is a diagonal ship for sure
We haven't found it yet, I'll need you to find
It, if you don't mind.

I wonder if there exists those two types of rules:
  • A hexagonal mealworm rule
  • A mealworm rule that can have speeds beyond c/2(but max cap at c/1)
(Use MAP strings for those 2 because I know regular INT could be impossible)

When replicator-based macroships are built, what algorithm is used to ensure the replicating units are lined up to produce/consume spaceship streams periodicly? This question could also apply to mealworm spaceships.

Can B345/S345 have any spaceships? A lot of times you get partials like this:

Code: Select all

x = 87, y = 95, rule = B345/S345

Very sloppy but it works

Code: Select all

x = 0, y = 0, rule = vonNeumannRuletables
!
@RULE vonNeumannRuletables
@TABLE
n_states: 3
neighborhood: vonNeumann
symmetries: permute
var a = {0, 1, 2} # All
var a1 = a
var a2 = a
var a3 = a
var a4 = a
var b = {1 ,2}
var b1 = b

0 1,0,0,0 2

1 a1,a2,a3,a4 2
2 b,b1,0,0 0
2 a1,a2,a3,a4,1

a a1,a2,a3,a4 0

How does this Euclidean CA appear to generate hyperbolic rivers?

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 9, rule = B3-kr4cejkrz5-eikr6cn78/S2-i3eijny4eirt6-a78
3b3o$b6o$3b2ob2o$obob2o$obo3bo$2bo2b3o$ob3obo$6o$3o2b2o!
If you go to about T=2000 or 3000, the rivers between checkerboard parities will look like hyperbolic rivers projected into the agar region using the stereographic projection.

Probably just an illusion since the rivers start small at the edges and decay to be larger as they get older?

(I think) It's impossible to perform any sort of calculations in that rule, because no pattern will ever change.
