At least you actually followed what the title of the thread implies.

I have a very high level programming language design. Maybe someone could develop it. It's intended for making programs.
Hello world:

Code: Select all

Say "Hello World"
Input:

Code: Select all

Ask the user for "Text"
Say "answer" /*answer is a supplied variable for inputs. This is a comment*/
You see where this is going.
Button:

Code: Select all

Make a blank window
Make an object with name "Button":
     It is a rectangle, 50 tall, 100 wide
     It is of color 0,255,0
     If the mouse is touching it and the mouse is
     clicked, Say "Clicked!"
On the blank window, display "Button" at 0,0

Does anybody know the entymology of extraordinary? I mean do you really think extra+ordinary=really cool and not really normal?

Re: Random posts

by gmc_nxtman
I think extra refers to being "outside" the category of ordinary, rather than being an intensifier, as in "extraneous".

So basically an object-oriented language with pseudocode-like syntax?
Because the supplied code reads like this:

Code: Select all

print("Hello World!")

Code: Select all

answer = input();
print(answer) /*Am I interpreting this line correctly?*/

Code: Select all

new Window();
new button = Button("Button") /*Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo*/
button.icon = new Rectangle(50,100);
button.color = Color.GREEN;
button.keyEvent(mouseClick) = print("Clicked!")

@Blinkerspawn yes,it's structured like a human dialouge. I forgot to also mention that lines like "Please", "Hello", and "Thank You!" Should be ignored in case someone actually befriends the programming language.

I seem to recall there was once a programming language that used English words in commands as much as it could, and it became widely disliked for being hard to read and also slow to write. I don't know what language it was, though. Maybe COBOL.

It's an interesting idea, though. If you want a human language that's grammatically unambiguous like a programming language, I suggest you look at Lojban.

The notation used to define the rule was originally proposed by Alan Hensel.

[Attempted decryption] Check out my new language! I just made it a few weeks ago. It's simple really, it's just English but every two letters are flipped and if there is one letter remaining {double-space probably not intended}nothing happens to it. Try it![/Attempted decryption]

[Attempted decryption] Nice going Rhombic! I see you solved it! I used to post random codes like this to my friends. Should I post a forum game on code?[/Attempted decryption]

Code: Select all

I ma fo hte ponioin htta fi oyu rae lpnaingn ot od osemhtnig ilek amek a enw otipc faetr saikgn ni oced, toehsr laos hsuodl eb bael ot nuedsratdn htta oyu saekd ebofer optsnig. Htsu, I ahev optsde hwta I ebilvee ot eb hte osulitno.
(Unencrypted: I am of the opinion that if you are planning to do something like make a new topic after asking in code, others also should be able to understand that you asked before posting. Thus, I have posted what I believe to be the solution.)
