You might not have to do any of that annoying maintenance yourself -- but other people (like me) do. Which is why we're asking you to please make a simple easy change to your rule names.
I see. I may rename the rule to B--Univ, but this could cause confusion with B-Univ.
On top of what is explicitly stated in Golly documentation, I suggest to choose some filename that doesn't contain two consecutive delimiters anywhere (in other words, neither of '--', '-_', '_-', '__' is a substring), and doesn't start or end with a delimiter.

Even though Golly documentation doesn't explicitly prohibit two or more consecutive hyphens (as in your suggested replacement), I think it's fairly clear that the main intended use of hyphens in @RULE file names doesn't involve any such sequences of consecutive hyphens, see the quoted parts below:
Golly documentation wrote:To allow for possible future extensions in the way Golly handles rule names, it's best to use only letters and digits. Hyphens and underscores are also okay if you need some sort of separator. Hyphens can allow a set of related rules to share colors and/or icons (see below). Note in particular that spaces and colons must not be used.
[...]
If rulename.rule is missing either the @COLORS or @ICONS section, Golly checks to see if rulename contains a hyphen. If it does then it looks for the missing color/icon data in another .rule file called prefix-shared.rule where prefix consists of all the characters before the final hyphen. (As in the above searches, it looks in your rules folder first, then in the supplied Rules folder.) This allows related rules to share a single source of colors and/or icons.

Can someone help me with this?

Code: Select all

x = 173, y = 10, rule = BPlusUniv
171.E$CB.CF.CF.CF.CF.CF.CF.CF.CF.CF.CG.CB.CG.CB.CG.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.
CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.
CD.CB.CF.CB.CF.CB.CF.CB.CF.CB.CB.CG.CD2.A8$170.E!
I need to turn that multistate duoplet to a state 1 (sheath) duoplet. More importantly, i need the signals to be in the same lane.

EDIT: So, i got to work, and here is what i have for the meantime:

Code: Select all

x = 252, y = 7, rule = BPlusUniv
250.E$CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.
CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.
CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CF.CB.CF.CB.CF.CF.CB.CB.CG.CB.CG.CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.
CB.CG.CG.CD.CB.CD.CB.CG.CG.CF.CB.CF.CB.CF.CF.CB3.A5$249.E!
The sheath duoplet is in fact not constructible, so that's why i made that sheath constellation.

Anyways, what i am planning to do, is to make something like this:

Code: Select all

x = 44, y = 19, rule = BPlusUniv
34.10C$34.C8.C$34.C3.2C3.C$34.C2.C2.C2.C$19.C14.C4.C3.C$18.C15.C3.C4.
C$17.6C11.C3.2C3.C$4.E13.C15.C8.C$5.A13.C14.C4.C3.C$34.C8.C$34.10C$17.
C.C.C$39.A$A3.A5$37.A!

[[ VIEWONLY ]]
The problem is that we need some sort of elbow that doesn't break down, with it turning into a puffer.

Suggest:
Add a diagonal ship, as how I did in GeminoidMaster.
Or:
Make a cell when a photon collide with a T, as how I did with c/1d and c/2d ships in GeminoidMaster.

Signal converter:

Code: Select all

x = 17, y = 23, rule = BPlusUniv
11.A3$12.D2.A$12.C2A$12.D3$2.A$.A.A$A2.CA$A2.B12.A$.A.2A10.A$2.A5$11.
A.A$11.ABCA$10.A4.A$11.A2.A$12.2A!
I'm not so sure if it could be modified to give this output:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 1, rule = BPlusUniv
CB.CD!
