How many times do I need to tell you apgsearch is not the only search program and search program is not the only way to investigate CA (and not a particular efficient way unless you have superior computing power)? I only have three programs as of now, apgsearch, qfind and dr, plus a few Golly scripts that aren't really search programs. My notable discoveries in LeapLife using these programs, respectively:

Apgsearch: None
qfind: None
dr: Some glider eaters, some LWSS eater trivial variations, a catalyst equivalent to a block, two new notable billiard tables.

As you can see, the vast majority of my discoveries were found manually. If you want to know how, be my guest.

Now, as far as control over posts published on the forums, I do agree with you more than with BokaBB here. Trying too hard to control what other people post on a Sandbox thread is more or less a waste of time. However, it's not actually against the rules to start a Sandbox thread with a particular purpose, and try to set some ground rules for other people to follow.

Then it's everyone's job to, first, be polite, and second, decide whether they want to follow those ground rules or not. If for some strange reason they don't want to follow the rules but still want to post on the thread (in Conway's name, why?!?) then they should be prepared to abide by the consequences, which may include the creator or the thread complaining about their failure to follow the rules.

With a little practice, all of this be done without anyone calling anyone any names, getting terribly upset, or reporting each others' posts to the moderators, who would really rather be doing something else besides settling silly squabbles in the Sandbox.

"When you're banned we will celebrate" is a terribly rude thing to say to anyone who is making a good-faith effort to participate in the community.

That message was mostly polite enough, though my general impression is that the term "bullying" could more appropriately be applied to your attempts to control BokaBB, than to BokaBB's attempts to control you. Here again, I'm really hoping to avoid wasting hours reading all of these huge piles of irrelevant Sandbox posts, in order to make a totally fair judgment about which of you is "right". It seems perfectly possible that neither of you is "right".

I do definitely agree that some of this thread's content is pretty questionable. Threats to "kill" or "destroy" people are generally in very poor taste, at best. I mean, obviously this is a "joke thread", but is it really necessary to tell these jokes?
