It was probably invented that way. It's pretty natural to think of corners, then edges, and etc.

And further more, it helped me a lot when rule-golfing: "cekainy" is pronounceable!

Once I randomly filled, I forgot, a 10x10 soup, I think, and it only made a big S. Just a big S, nothing else. You'll have to take my word since I lost it though... I think another 10x10 big s producing soup won't be too hard to find with a simple Golly search script, though.
