No bells at all. Do you have a link to the actual site that has the problem?

Ah, sorry. It's just my Blogger weblog. I've never seen the "wall of text" behavior that Saka is describing, though.

I think this is the likely culprit. Something is stripping out HTML tags.

Wow. I feel as if the forums have made a sudden quantum leap into the modern age.

Speaking of which, Will Cavendish just sent me a link to a continuous-CA video:

https://vimeo.com/277328815

... which appears to have Javascript code already available, supporting in-browser simulations of these things:

https://chakazul.github.io/Lenia/JavaScript/Lenia.html

It seems somewhat frightening that they've still discovered so few "species" of spaceships and puffers and so on, that they're giving each one a taxonomic classification and a Latin name. Wonder how long that would last if the conwaylife.com forum dwellers got hold of this rulespace?

-- Of course I'm not suggesting that you try stealing the relevant code and supporting these things in LifeViewer... unless you feel like putting together a really impressive entry in the April Fool's Day competition or something like that.

I think they'd love it. Perhaps there's a Lenia forum we can divert them to... ;)

Given my record of having things on the backlog I'm not sure which year's April Fool's Day we're talking about.

Sorry that I keep breaking how LifeViewer interacts with the website. Now that I've updated the wiki, LifeViewer gets stuck behind elements of the wiki:
