Restricted B2 Rules

This is my first rule table! (Actually, it's more of a family of rule tables than a single one.) Here it is:

You need to have Golly 2.2 installed, as this uses the permute symmetry.

This example is set to B2/S23. To turn survival on, replace the corresponding rightmost zeroes with 1, 2, and 3, as seen in the S2 and S3 slots. To keep survival off, keep the corresponding rightmost zeroes as is, as seen in all of the other survival ones.

IMPORTANT: When showcasing these rules, PLEASE name the ruletable restricted-b2s(whatever survival methods you have turned on).table.

In the B2/S23 rule given, there is an interesting p12 diagonal spaceship, as well as an orthogonal line puffer.

In B2/S245, there is a tiny p30 oscillator.

In B2/S2456, there is a small p20 oscillator.

Wow! This is a very interesting set of rules. The word "restricted" sounds boring: it actually shows really complex behaviour. I like how all the states have the same "weight", as opposed to Generations-like rules. It is interesting to mention that every pattern can be expressed in six similar ways by changing all cells from one state to another.

R-B2S23 is too expansive, but that diagonal puffer is amazing; It reminds me of seeds, but with diagonal patterns emerging too. R-B2S245678 is a really interesting rule with a lot of beautiful oscillators and a 2c/30 ship. It is really easy to create high period oscillators. The "clusters" of stable, resilient cells offer great posibilities for engineering.

One thing I like about the 2c/30 ship: After 15 generations, the pattern is at its starting point, but with its colors reversed. This means that there are only three ways of expressing this pattern; the other three express the same pattern with an offset of 15 generations.

I've made a .colors file for this rules that changes the colors from the usual gradient to red, green and blue. It helps to understand how the rule works. And it looks beautiful, too.

I also made a ruletable that simplifies creating new rules to commenting or uncommenting lines. Slightly less tedious than the original.
