Ready 0.3

Post by Tim Hutton »

Ready 0.3 is out today, coinciding nicely with Alan Turing's birthday. There's one big change in particular: you can now run reaction-diffusion on the surface of polygonal meshes, like a sphere, or a leopard. You can even import your own meshes. There are loads of new patterns too, like Robert Munafo's fascinating U-Skater.

Get the new version and the full changelist here:

New version don't work for me. When opening .exe there pops gray window with toolbar. Tried both Windows version and same happens. I'll try to figure out problem on my own for now
Edit: Tried several things: Opening files, running pattern do nothing. Help files work. But taking screenshot on newly opened pattern creates good screenshot, but screenshot crashes program if pattern is still generating
First question ever. Often referred to as The Question. When this question is asked in right place in right time, no one can lie. No one can abstain. But when The Question is asked, silence will fall. Silence must fall. The Question is: Doctor Who?

When I open the new version on my Mac, there's only a white screen with the toolbar.
I enabled the Patterns Pane, Help Pane and Info Pane, but when I try to run a pattern nothing happens.
Like Wojowu said the screenshots show the pattern even if the program screen is white and empty.
Edit. I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.2

Ah, I think this is caused by the presence of the preferences file from the old version.

Try:

View > Restore Default Layout

or

Locate and delete the preferences file when Ready is closed. Its location is described here:

http://reaction-diffusion.googlecode.co ... html#prefs

If these don't help then please send full details of your installation environment and we'll see what we can do.
