Please do give Golly a try, if possible. It takes a bit too much work to convert your very long coordinate lists into something that other people can use. For even a relatively small pattern like this one, even the scrolling is painful! At least enclose your patterns in [​code] tags, so they don't take up so much vertical space.

I did download the Golly. It is compacted and I dont know how to install it.
Are anyone try to convert the coordinates I sent ? I have try to find some rakes that send SS but I havent find anyone...

The viewer used on the forums is actually Chris Rowett's LifeViewer, which is programmed in HTML and JavaScript and therefore can be used on the Internet. However, the forum viewer currently does not allow you to edit patterns.

Golly has multiple features that are missing from Lumpiluk's simulator:
-Having specialized algorithms to simulate patterns way faster than you'd normally be able to
-Being able to simulate custom cellular automata rules that behave differently to Conway's Game of Life
-Being able to move around and copy individual parts of a pattern
-and more.

That is the pattern you posted earlier (and that dvgrn mentioned in his response). Please see dvgrn's post.


To clear up any confusion, RLE stands for "run length encoded." RLE is a means of describing a pattern based on how many times a given state (dead state, alive state, etc.) appears.
In this case,
"b" represents a dead cell,
"o" represents a live cell,
"$" represents a line break,
and "!" represents the end of the pattern.

As an example, consider the following RLE:

The above RLE is the same as 3 live cells, followed by 100 dead cells, followed by 10 live cells, followed by 2 line breaks, followed by 1 live cell.
If you couldn't encode the run length, the pattern would waste a lot of space, as it would need to be described as follows:

As a side note, an RLE run in LifeViewer will use the rule B3/S23 unless a different rule is specified.

What states are available depends on the rule. The following pattern uses a Generations-type rule, meaning it has cells that last a certain number of generations before dying completely.

In this case, the dead state is represented with "." and the other states are represented with letters of the alphabet. This format allows up to 27 states to be represented (the dead state plus one state per letter).

Based on dvgrn's post, the general method of producing the LWSS is not new; however, it might be a new record in terms of bounding box.
To determine if that is the case, one would have to search through a large database (or a combination of databases) containing all known rakes. Sadly, I don't know where all such pattern collections are, so I can't answer that question.
