Frogs (12/34/3)

Post by David »

This is a chaotic rule. But result is simple, normally.
It has a few patterns...

- Infinity still lifes. Currently, a domino and a stable wick discovered.
- 2 oscillators.
P6(very normally occured, a pentomino):

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = 12/34/3
.2A$2A$A!
P4(dosen't normally occued):

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = 12/34/3
.2A$.A.A$A.A$.2A!
- And a c/5 orthogonal spaceship(maybe it is the 'frog'):

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = 12/34/3
A2.A$A2.A$.2A!
...Anything else?

Oops... The spaceship has the code for the p4 repeated...

This is (I think) the c/5 ship missed out of the first post:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = 12/34/3
2A$2.A$2.A$2A!
Here is another small P6 oscillator which often occurs naturally:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = 12/34/3
3.A$.ABA$.B$2A!

A frog rotates a still life 90º without moving it:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 15, rule = 12/34/3
A2.A$A2.A11$A2.A$A2.A$.2A!

Allowing S7 introduces a p12 sparker that can hassle a domino:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 11, rule = 127/34/3
2.2A$3.2A$4.2A4$2.2A$3.2A$4.2A$A$A!
And allowing B6 introduces this small c/6 spaceship:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = 12/346/3
.2A$A.A$.2A!

A frog rotates a simple still life 90º and reflects itself by 180º:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 13, rule = 12/34/3
A$A9$2.A2.A$2.A2.A$3.2A!

Hello, I'm fairly new to Conway's Game of Life and recently have taken an interest to this rule in particular. I don't really know how to describe or name them well, but these haven't been posted yet.

P3 (Very similar to a previously mentioned P6)

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = 12/34/3
2.2A$.BA$3A$A!
P5

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 5, rule = 12/34/3
A3.A$.A.A$2.A$.A.A$A3.A!
Another P6

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = 12/34/3
2A$.A$.2A$2.2A!
P18

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 5, rule = 12/34/3
3.A$B.3A.B3$.2A.2A!

I am kind of new to the forums but I have been really exploring this rule for a while.
I am bumping this because I have a few new discoveries and a question/challenge:
A period 90 oscillator:

Code: Select all

x = 46, y = 11, rule = 12/34/3
2$3.B24.B8.A3.A$6.A5.A3.A14.A6.A.A$3.A2.A6.A.A12.A2.A7.A$2.2A10.A12.
2A9.A.A$3.A2.A6.A.A12.A2.A5.A3.A$6.A5.A3.A14.A$3.B24.B!
An eater:

Code: Select all

x = 25, y = 27, rule = 12/34/3
22.2A$24.A$24.A$22.2A2$.B$4.A$.A2.A$2A$.A2.A$4.A$.B13$8.A2.A$8.A2.A$
9.2A!
And a few syntheses:

Code: Select all

x = 142, y = 371, rule = 12/34/3
13$21.2A$20.A2.A$20.A2.A2$25.2A$9.A17.A$10.A16.A$25.2A9$21.2A$20.A2.A

Can these syntheses be improved on?
Also, is it possible to make a caterpillar-esqe spaceship out of these reactions?

Do you know who/what said one exists? The closest thing I found was the c/6d in Star Wars, which was a big discovery, but a very different rule.
