This rule has chaotic explosive growth with a twist; In the mess, random coagulated masses of cells, called iceballs, form and grow over time.

The closely related B2568/S5678 is perhaps even better described as an "ice-9" rule: this is also randomly exploding, iceballs still grow, and small iceball-ish seeds still appear in the chaos — but the initial occurrence of any that would be of sufficient size to grow is extremely rare, so you'd normally peg this as a rule where random chaos is the only kinetically stable phase.
