Cellular Automata Methods in Mathematical Physics

Post by Phantom Hoover »

I came across http://publications.csail.mit.edu/lcs/p ... TR-615.pdf, which has a large number of CAs that model physical systems. Most of the ones I've seen look well within Golly's capabilities, so is there any interest in converting them?

In order to get this link to work you have to delete the s at the end.

Interesting stuff, Phantom Hoover. There's a square9_reading_order neighborhood available in the rule table format which would be needed for some of these, especially the polymer models. To support it in Golly would need some background state trickery, as we do for the Margolus neighborhood.
