At this time, spaceship searching for new speeds is facing big obstacles, but non-prime-period oscillator searching goes pretty well and we even have a couple of new glider guns. Better yet is the solution for unique father problem! So my new predictions for CGoL:

By the end of 2022 a period-7 (3,0)c/7 glider backrake will be found.
By the end of 2022 the collection of glider syntheses for every 21-cell still life will be completed, where the most expensive construction takes below 100 gliders. Similarly, by the end of 2023 still life reduction goals including 14-in-9, 16-in-13 and 18-in-17 will be achieved. (Dare to try 9-in-4?)
By the end of 2025 either a new knightwise speed of the form (2,1)c/p, or a new orthogonal speed will be discovered.
By the end of 2030 either a stable, reusable 2c/3 signal elbow, or an elementary color-changing 90-degree glider reflector will be discovered.
