I have thought that it may be interesting to create collaboratively a 4-state Life-like rule. I think that a good idea is to make it non-explosive, interesting (the other two states must be able to take part in oscillators and/or spaceships) without deviating too much from Life, with state 1 behaving quite similar to Life.
Notes:
- It will be a (permute) totalistic-based rule
- The ideas in the first paragraph should be taken into account
- Interaction with the two new states should not allow extremely bizarre reactions (so avoid an ExtendedLife-like behaviour)
- I post the first version here, still subject to many changes...
- ...and you can post newer versions/improvements of the previous one...
- ...until we reach one that is complex/interesting enough.
(post the rule as StruggleLifeN, with N-1 being the integer that appeared in the name of the older version)
