B367/S35678

Post by Apple Bottom »

I recently soup-searched some rules in the neighborhood of Day & Night, including B367/S35678. The rule's rich in still lives, oscillators and linear-growth patterns; one of the most common objects is this fairly large xp20.

There's spaceships, too; in particular there's a common xq6, xq6_41vvs (listed on Eppstein's glider page as glider 1707). But near the end of the search there also appeared two uncommon xq4s, xq4_37vsv73zxf and xq4_4suvsgz6vvvv6:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 7, rule = B367/S35678
5b2o$3b4o$b6o$5o$b6o$3b4o$5b2o!

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 6, rule = B367/S35678
4bob2o$2b8o$10o$b9o$2b8o$2bo3b2o!
Remarkably, neither of these is listed on Eppstein's page, despite both being fairly small and the former symmetric to boot.
