I can't actually remember if I've posted this before or not:

The very first heisenburp reaction I ever remember seeing, many years ago, involved a honeyfarm hitting a glider in a manner very similar to this. In trying to see if it was the same mechanism, I tried looking up Heisenburp in the wiki and the lexicon, but both sources appear to have very little information on them (and the forums don't have much either). It may have been a similar but slightly different mechanism, as I don't recall the honeyfarm turning into two pis.

Technically you can't, because the machine isn't really intact after the signal goes through it. Its internal structure has changed, significantly and almost certainly irrevocably. You'd have to destroy it and rebuild it from the ground up to get the original state back.

So there's not much point in trying to extract a glider, because you have no possible way of doing it repeatably. Quite likely you could balance a boat or eater or something near the southeast corner of the pattern, and get a glider out without changing anything else about the reaction.

You could use the latest Seeds of Destruction Game for a while, and you'd be bound to find something. But the result wouldn't even merit posting in Useless Discoveries, really.

Exactly right. We probably shouldn't even call it a "signal", since it destroys its conduit.

It is possible to extract a glider at the end while leaving a modified still life behind, but since this only works once, it really is useless:

Personally, I wouldn't discourage others from posting in this thread. This thread after all is about "Useless Discoveries". It has also been for the most part a fun thread where anything goes.

More to the point, there are plenty of people who lack sound judgement when it comes to forum posting, and this behavior in general will not go away. It would be better for them to spam this thread, rather than spam other more important threads or the forum itself.
