Just in case, I hope you know there's an optimized form for some Bellman favorites, especially the BTS and MikeP's honeyfarm catalyst? (which hopefully would work well with CatForce too, I think?)Kazyan wrote:So, I've adapted a Python script to do CatForce runs for collisions of a HWSS with blocks, beehives, boats, loaves, tubs, ponds, ships, and blinkers. I'll report the most promising results shortly--they'll be quick 1-catalyst searches with combine-results turned on, using Bellman favorites in addition to the usual Spartan suspects.

Thanks for the tip, and yes, I've been meaning to learn ptbsearch but just haven't been bothered to do so yet. CatForce does indeed benefit from optimizations like those for ptbsearch, and extra catalysts have to either be snake-free or contain the appropriate "forbidden" exceptions that I keep getting slightly wrong. This is my current template list, which can still benefit from optimizations like yours:Scorbie wrote:Just in case, I hope you know there's an optimized form for some Bellman favorites, especially the BTS and MikeP's honeyfarm catalyst? And I would like to recommend ptbsearch (as a zealous advocate) as it is pretty likely to produce solutions with about 4 catalysts. Currently I have only searched two HWSS+block collisions with semispartan catalysts, and both did give me solutions that restore the original block.

Just for the record, I ran a 4-catalyst catgl (not ptbsearch) search overnight last night -- none of the candidates restored the beehive. Not that I was expecting that to work... it just would have been really nice if it had.Kazyan wrote:Not done yet, but there is a nice HWSS + beehive -> Honey Farm reaction that requires no other catalysts. Wow. I haven't thought of merging two Bellman catalysts together. I remembered that you were the first to optimize catalysts by merging themKazyan wrote:Thanks for the tip, and yes, I've been meaning to learn ptbsearch but just haven't been bothered to do so yet.
