I could've chose a better username, but oh well.

I think I've learned the ropes of cellular automata. My current interest is range-two LTLs.

In case anybody's curious, the @TREE data was created by copying the following Python code to the clipboard and then running make-ruletree.py in Scripts/Python/Rule-Generators. I find this method easier than creating @TABLE data (although it's only practical for a small number of states).

Code: Select all

name = "Gravity"
n_states = 4
n_neighbors = 8
def transition_function(s):
    NW, NE, SW, SE, N, W, E, S, C = s
    moon = 1
    earth = 2
    graviton = 3
    if C == moon: return 0
    if C == 0:
        if E == moon and S == graviton: return moon
        if NE == moon and E == graviton: return moon
        if N == moon and E == graviton: return moon
        if NW == moon and N == graviton: return moon
        if W == moon and N == graviton: return moon
        if SW == moon and W == graviton: return moon
        if S == moon and W == graviton: return moon
        if SE == moon and S == graviton: return moon
    return C
