Game of Life in desmos graphing calculator

Post by PHarra57 »

I made a Game Of Life simulator that allows any ruleset in desmos graphing calculator: it is a 40x40 (size customizable) grid of squares, you can draw, erase, play/pause, reset and randomize the cellular automaton. It has two sliders, one for generation speed and the other for random squares filled (from clicking randomize) it has two rows of check boxes for rules by default it is B3/S23 (normal ruleset) but you can change it to be what ever you want. I've tested the normal ruleset, highlife, seeds, ant colony, and maze (names from carykh's video on the Conway multiverse) it also has stats for generations, population (amount of squares) and max population. Something similar was actually made in the Desmos 2025 Art Contest. It seems like that one and this one have most of the same features, pretty cool overall.
I could've chose a better username, but oh well.

I think I've learned the ropes of cellular automata. My current interest is range-two LTLs.
