I reported all the double posts and triple posts.
Thanks for acknowledging the multi-posting problem!
Now there's just one more minor detail to straighten out a little bit. Double/triple posts aren't really something that you're supposed to use the post-reporting system for.
In this case you edited some previous posts with the content from later posts. But some of the later posts already had "likes" on them, so deleting them didn't entirely make sense. In one case it seemed like you self-reported a double-post
without editing the content into a previous post, so deleting that reported post definitely wouldn't have made sense.
Let me know if any of the following points don't make sense to you. I'm happy to explain further in a private-message discussion.
- there's generally no need to bother going back and fixing double-post mistakes that were already made
- if you want to do that, then it's also part of your job to replace the content of the double post with something like "DELETE"
- otherwise you end up with duplicated content
- duplicated content is much worse than a double post
- you can report a post that just says DELETE, because it's easy for moderators to see that the post should simply be deleted
- however, please don't create duplicate content and then report half of it, because that makes a puzzling mess that moderators have to try to figure out what exactly to do about; there's no reason to make a mess like that.
I think I have everything cleaned up now, to where there's no need for you to make any more retroactive edits.
Long story short:
- any specific instance of
past double-posting is not a big deal at all, don't worry about it
- the only important thing is to be careful to not double-post
in the future
