First, we have a lot more community members, with different skills and approaches to problems.
Second, we have 32 times more compute.
I think that we should return to the long abandoned piship hunt. There are two approaches, but I think only one is really viable:
1. The atomic approach.
This involves searching for a sparky 3c/10 ship and then using it to support the pi wave. There are three serious problems with this approach:
a. You are looking for a period 10 ship. I wish you luck.
b. If you have a 3c/10 ship there’s really not much point in stabilizing the pi wave, is there?
c. If you just stick random junk around the pi, you are probably not gonna find anything useful
2. The constructivist approach.
This one takes the pi wave and makes a constructed ship out of it. This, I think, is actually viable.
