There is a category named "Patterns constructible by a given number of gliders", which gives an overview the state of the art in glider synthesis efficiency, but it has no subcategory for patterns which have no known synthesis (which would be different from "Patterns that can not be constructed with gliders"). Is it possible to add such a category?

On a related note, should American Dream be in the unconstructible category? Since American Dream is a finite pattern, I would say that a valid synthesis in the usual sense should use only a finite number of gliders. I confirm that the existence of infinite glider collisions producing this pattern does not seem to have been disproved, and it would be very interesting if one existed. I am not optimistic though : it is as close to a Garden of Eden as it is possible to be without being one.

I've gone ahead and created a Unidimensional spaceship page. The article states that American Dream on its own has no finite parents, which means it has no finite predecessors, meaning it cannot have a finite glider synthesis. If we manage to synthesize the 'almost parent' or something similar, it would become American Dream with some noninteracting debris further away. Actually, I was working on editing that, and added the carotenoid and ElijahKen’s smaller ibisship.
Edit: I also fixed the coloring for the patterns mentioned above, but for some reason, LifeWiki did not update the articles where the images were present, maintaining the Golly-style coloring. No worries if this is too central to the wiki to casually propose changes for, but I think the Portal list on the front page could be in a slightly tidier ordering. I think Still Lifes, Oscillators, and Spaceships should be all towards the left or the top, to be the first ones seen by the average reader, since they're the most basic ordered patterns of interest in both CGOL and cellular automata at large, but currently they're towards the bottom center area of the list. Most readers will see a link for Guns as the first article rather than the basic patterns that tend to make up guns in CGOL, which feels a little strange. Putting them all in the left column in particular makes sense to me as a small change that leaves the last column unchanged, but I could see the argument for a larger rearrangement.

Thank you, WhiteHawk, for pointing out the name “Bin Chicken”. I had forgotten that the smaller ibisship was named that.
As for the correct location for the annelid, I would like to point out that 28/3 is between 9 and 10, so the correct place to put the spaceship in the speed table is after the flamingoship, not between the giraffe weevil and the waterbear, since the list of spaceships is sorted by increasing slope and decreasing speed when two or more slopes are the same.
Edit (June 27th, 2026, 10:22 PM): I split tHighLife, tDryLife, and SilverLife into their respective articles. This has been proposed for at least six months and I have finalized it tonight.

The 'Growing spaceship' LifeWiki article could mention that arbitrarily slow-growing spaceships are known based on a glider traveling back and forth between two trails of boats created by Cordership puffers.

Four Divisor table:
44p10 works for 1,q2,p for period 10.
Six divisor table:
Period 18 is missing, please add it back.
Explain notation for numbers which are neither square or fifth powers.
Tesseracts of primes: 1, q3, p for period 16 the two pre-L Hassler is smaller.
For 1,q2,q3,p for period 81 the following is an example:

The 'Line ship' LifeWiki article could have some additional information (worded much better than this).

The original line ship shown above extends the growing line continuously at the front. This means that if the line is burnt from the trailing end and is not stopped, then the line-building reaction will fail. The burning can only be stopped a small number of generations after it is started, so the pattern can only have a low period.
A second type of line ship builds the line in segments which are then joined together using a line-mending reaction. Because of this the line can burn completely from the back to the front since the gaps between the segments cleanly stops the burning (assuming the timing is correct). This type of line ship can have arbitrarily large periods.
See the 'Growing/shrinking line ship' LifeWiki article for an example.
A line ship can also be used to create a sawtooth in which the line repeatedly grows and shrinks, such that it becomes longer on each cycle.

The original line ship shown above extends the growing line continuously at the front. This means that if the line is burnt from the trailing end and is not stopped, then the line-building reaction will fail. The burning can only be stopped a small number of generations after it is started, so the pattern can only have a low period.
A second type of line ship builds the line in segments which are then joined together using a line-mending reaction. Because of this the line can burn completely from the back to the front since the gaps between the segments cleanly stops the burning (assuming the timing is correct). This type of line ship can have arbitrarily large periods.

A line ship can also be used to create a sawtooth in which the line repeatedly grows and shrinks, such that it becomes longer on each cycle.
