I think we should look more into T syntheses and (both glider and T, perhaps a mix of both) assisted syntheses, as those will likely help with guns since most smaller guns shoot Ts and not gliders. For example, here is a sparker-assisted 3T-to-F (base reaction from 3T_stdin) which unfortunately does not work with P248 due to the far right T needing somewhat of an edgeshoot, which isn’t doable with the standard reflect reaction at factors of 248 (though it is doable at other periods):

Maybe, but what about simply "sliced bread"? Although it's not as simple as crust, crust sounds like it would be smaller than a loaf. This means we could call the p11 a p11 bread cutter and the p14 a p14 bread cutter.

I've been looking through D8_1 on catagolue, and with a lot of periods you can't find anything because there's just a bunch of stator variants of one or two oscillators for each period. So, I engineered some rules to search for patterns in B3/S23-a5 that kill these for a specific period, and here they are:
p4 - B3/S23-a5-e kills most p4 billiards and isn't even that far from TTs.
p5 - B36n/S23-a5 kills the heart stator variants, this hassler & variants, this small p5, this & D2x & D8_1 stator variants, this & variants, and more.
p6 - B36k/S23-a5 kills most common p6s, this was difficult to find as there are several different common ones. Also works for p8, p9, and p12.
p7 - B35e/S23-a5 kills this & variants, this & variants, and more. Also works for p10, p11, and p14.
p8 - B36k/S23-a5, kills all variants of this R stabilization, the p8 with a p4 thumb, and a couple other common patterns.
p9 - B36k/S23-a5, kills this & variants and this & variants.
p10 - B35e/S23-a5 kills this and variants, which is enough as that makes up 14 of the 20 most common p10s.
p11 - B35e/S23-a5 kills all known D8_1 p11s.
p12 - B36k/S23-a5 kills this and variants, making up all but 1 of the 20 most common oscillators.
p13 - B38/S23-a5 kills this and variants.
p14 - B35e/S23-a5 kills all the oscillators like this, making it much easier to find patterns.
The higher periods don't need anything as there are less than 12 per rule.
In summary, can someone search these in D8_1?
B3/S23-a5-e for p4
B36n/S23-a5 for p5
B36k/S23-a5 for p6, p8, p9, and p12
B35e/S23-a5 for p7, p10, p11, and p14
B38/S23-a5 for p13
