Since there is no explicit stop, I assume you are referring to the Herscheloid at 90th generation as "the product". It seems hopeless, being in the middle of the visited region. However, you can always add some blocks and use these two eater1s as an 11-plet eater or as a converter to a leaf. In any case, it is going to be hard to place the 11-plet in that spot. :-)

Code: Select all

Currently working to improve Life's guns and work on updating SKOPs and Isotropic rules most similar to B3/S23 to Life standards. Will get software to begin searches eventually.

A sawtooth might be possible if the glider stream could be made.

Here is a reaction which inserts a glider into a hole to complete the glider stream. So the full glider stream could be made using copies of this and (some multiple of) period 22 glider guns.

Code: Select all

#C A reaction to complete a double period 22 glider stream.

The other problem I haven't look at is whether or not the fuse burning terminates nicely so that a new set of gliders can emerge.

Since it reflects the glider, we could like it up to a glider loop.
I am not smart enough to do that though.

I was trying to find a way to add a sacrificial object to a reaction that I found which turns a boat into a shillelagh that might be useful for slow glider construction in order to let me post a demonstration where the chaos does not come back and destroy the shillelagh, and I ended up finding a method that also releases a MWSS.

That is not a mere transparent reaction; it is a rephasing, similar to how the pre-pre-block can rephase a blinker. Given the fact that toads and toad-like oscillators are used as catalysts more frequently than blinkers, I would be pleasantly surprised if this were used somewhere in an oscillator with a prime period, perhaps, as long as somebody creates a Herschel-to-whatever-that-is, and the blinker could be easily eaten.

Heck, it has such a narrow envelope that it can be used for killer toads:

Code: Select all

x = 33, y = 26, rule = B3/S23

Helloshe, I like pentadecathlons and small-period motifs.
I may not be very skilled in search programs, but I have many ideas.
Soli Deo Gloria!
