Smaller 4c/58o, reduced from 10 to 8 cells.
Original:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 7, rule = B3-ky/S23-aiy4anq6n
3bo$b2o$bo2$3o$3bo$obo!
New:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B3-cknq/S2-n34iq
bo$3o$o2bo$2b2o!
:)

A 3-cell 4c/58o (which is the smallest possible population) is known, by the way.

Code: Select all

#C Population: 3
x = 0, y = 0, rule = B2cen3cqy4actw5aeijy/S02k3akq
o3$obo!

Code: Select all

#C [[ ZOOM 8 TRACK -3/87 -1/87 ]]
x = 4, y = 5, rule = B35ay/S2-i3-e4ey5j
2bo$b2o$2obo$bobo$2b2o!
Why do I even bother anymore?

this thing becomes:
14c/85265o

likely the smallest, i mean, this speed is just... crazy.

This ship was found by NimbleRogue. Please give credit if you didn't find a discovery, or people might assume you found it when you didn't.

Not for INT, but for B0INT, a smaller 13c/14 at 6 cells:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B02-n3-cik4-jnwz5ajqy6ak7e/S01c2ckn3-eiky4aiknq5cejnr6aci
b2o$o$o$b2o!
The torch of 5S has been passed on again, and is now managed by speedydelete. It can be found here. Also check out my program EPE, a tool for searching for patterns in various rulespaces.

I've created a 5S website! Please do not put in large spaceships, or large amounts of spaceships. It is at https://speedydelete.com/5s/. Additionally, everything posted in this thread should be added, as well as the >1000 NRSS rule's ships.

Edit: Source code and downloadable data is at https://github.com/speedydelete/sssss.

How does this page relate to the old 5S page?

Not sure if this counts but... I found a c/76 spaceship in a rule I found! I believe it fits in the INT B0 Category, and is the first one identified (please correct me if I'm wrong. :( )

I've added support for OT and Generations rules, for a total of 8 rule types: INT, INT B0, OT, OT B0, INT Generations, INT Generations B0, OT Generations, and OT Generations B0! I've added GliderDB as a starter for OT.

Please feel free to contribute your ships!

It does not relate to it in any way, I didn't even know it existed until now.

Submitting things doesn't appear to work? I just get HTTP 500 errors.

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 12, rule = B367/S2-i34q

Would be interesting if this site could generate summary tables directly from the database (the LifeWiki summary table is currently unmaintained). I stuck a suggestion in the issues place for this: https://github.com/speedydelete/sssss/issues/1
Parity Replicator Collection v1.6 is now live - please send all relevant discoveries here.

You can now download the data directly from the website! Please don't excessively use this feature, as you could overrun the limit.

In any case, there is already a (6,1)c/91 smaller than that one:

Code: Select all

#C (6, 1)/91, population 3
x = 0, y = 0, rule = B2k3-ejkn4nqt5-kqr6c7c/S01e2aen3-aceq4eikty5-cekr6in8

There is a 5S database for OT rules, but this thread primarily focuses on INT. I'd like to ask, however, which level of G is used in defining INT generations.

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3-q4z5y/S234k5j

Any number of states between 3 and 256 is allowed for the Generations databases.

If you have a ship that can be adjusted by changing the number of states, you are allowed to submit all instances of it in this specific case, because it is "finitely adjustable". Any other finitely (within reason) adjustable ship is also allowed!
I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in certain rulespaces.

Somewhat smaller, still unoptimized. The solution is based on a puffer blocking the emitted T ships and a polyomino one-time reflector on the right side.

The 5S website server says “503 unable to serve content”. What is going on and how to fix it?

That rule isn't in the rulespace that 5S currently accepts, so I don't think it really counts (yet).

5S update is up:
  • Max period has been increased to 65536
  • New categories: INT B1e, INT Statorless (no survival transitions), and INT 1 Death Transition
  • Submitting things to a category submits things to its subcategories, and submitting things to a subcategory also submits it to its supercategory (this means you don't have to worry about having to submit anything multiple times for it to count, it handles this automatically now!)
  • Better rate limiting
  • All too-big ships that were requested to be added have been added
Edit: Formatted list properly, Edit 2: Included clarification about INT Statorless

I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in certain rulespaces.

As I'm trying to search for a completely valid speed.
I could've chose a better username, but oh well.

Still learning the ropes of cellular automata, focused on one OCA at a time. My current interest is B35/S126 and range-two LTLs.
