As an incredibly unprofessional chemist, I believe this preparation is lacking some important context. Hexa(nanokidyl)benzene and chromium(III) tennessate are incredibly difficult to obtain and have to be synthesized in situ. The tennessate ion (TsO[sub]3[/sub][sup]-[/sup]) contains the highly radioactive element tennessine, which has to be made in a cyclotron from other elements. I believe the only way it has been synthesized so far is with calcium hitting berkelium, like this:

Code: Select all

x = 40, y = 43, rule = B3/S23
19b2ob2o$18bobobobobo3b2o$18b2o5b2o4bo$30bo$18b2o5b2o3b2o5b2o$18bobob
obobo11bo$19b2ob2o6b2o5bo$30bobobobo$19b2ob2o7b2ob2o$18bobobobo$18b2o
5bo5b2ob2o$26bo3bobobo$18b2o5b2o3b2o3bo$18b2o16bo$30b2o5bo$18b2o5b2o3b
o7bo$18bobobobobo4bo7bo$19b2ob2o6b2o6b2o4$8b3o$10bo$9bo$4b3o17b3o$6bo
12b3o4bo$5bo15bo3bo$3o17bo$2bo$bo27b3o$31bo$30bo$3o21b3o$2bo23bo$bo17b
3o3bo3b3o$21bo9bo$3b3o14bo9bo$5bo$4bo$21b3o2b3o$8b3o12bo4bo$10bo11bo4b
o$9bo!
(This is exactly what it should look like when you try this yourself.)

Due to tennessine's high electronegativity, it will readily react with non-metals such as oxygen, so it easily forms tennessate ions by picking up oxygen. A hypothetical "pertennessate" (*TsO[sub]4[/sub][sup]-[/sup]) does not exist like with perchlorate or perbromate due to the inert-pair effect, which is the tendency of heavy post-transition metals to leave one pair of electrons unshared. So, chromium(III) tennessate powder can be prepared by bombarding berkelium with calcium, and mixing the result with a chromium(III) compound like chromium(III) hydroxide. It is trivial to obtain the needed materials calcium, chromium(III) hydroxide, and especially berkelium.

Despite its radioactive nature, tennessine's chemistry is very well-known, and I made none of this information up.

To create hexa(nanokidyl)benzene, we can start by noticing that it is made out of two components: a benzene group and a nanokidyl group. One way to combine these groups together is via a dehydration reaction. For this reaction, though, one of the groups would have to have hydroxyl groups attached. Attaching all 6 hydroxyl groups (6 are needed because hexa-) gives a compound known as benzenehexol, which can probably be bought from some sketchy site on the internet, or be produced by reacting potassium with carbon monoxide and reacting the product with water. Benzenehexol can then be isolated from the other products, and reacted with nanokid to make hexa(nanokidyl)benzene.

There are some pretty good instructions on how to synthesize NanoKid on Wikipedia, but it basically comes down to cloning yourself and turning your clone into a molecule. To do this, you need to use black magic. Unfortunately, there are no good ways to learn black magic, as only demons are able to utilize it. However, there are some friendly demons out there which can help! I recommend going to Ansomus the Wise. Really chill guy, and his prices are very low. I only had to give him 30% of my liver. Anyway, now you will have to react the nanokid molecules with benzenehexol. Normally, the yield is very low, so you have to call upon your demon friend again to help you get a better yield. This reaction will result in hexa(nanokidyl)benzene powder, and this can then be mixed with the chromium(III) tennessate powder from earlier to yield an eater  .

Overall, still pretty accurate answer, and good for a summary.

A: Spaceships tend to be very big, and are thus hard to synthesize naturally. All speeds of ships have yet to occur naturally in Conway's Game of Life, except for c/66538377884, as there is a small ship with that speed (only one cell thin in its smallest phase!)

There used to be 17 speeds, but they were each cut into 45ths by the developers of Conway's Game of Life because they were making the game too laggy. The speeds are:

1.(3c/5o)/45
2.(5c/9o)/45
3.(4c/11o)/45
4.(126c/354o)/45
5.(3c/10o)/45
6.(2c/11o)/45
7.(c/94o)/45
8.(c/137o)/45
9.(c/66538377884)/45

10.(2c/3d)/45
11.(93c/237d)/45
12.(94c/244d)/45
13.(c/3d)/45
14.(2c/7d)/45
15.(c/137d)/45

16.((2,1)c/6)/45
17.((2,1)c/137)/45

(Each of these is one 45th of a speed.)

A lot of effort has been put into finding one 45th of a c/2o and a c/4d ship, but none have been found.

Q: What are the longest partials for the speeds (c/2o)/45 and (c/4d)/45?
