Don't know where to post this, since i don't want to bump the thread, but it seems Discord has at least some role in boosting its ridiculous popularity. (Is having discussion in Discord now required for any OCA to gain significant attention??)

Can someone trying using OCA CatForce with this rule? There's a good chance that it'll give interesting results that the current catalyst-placing program misses.

I'm glad that my post regarding the patched CatForce has had some influence, but i hoped that the influence would be on any rule but this.

I'm really tired of the fact that some of the most "successful" OCA of all time has been rather uninteresting Life variants: tlife, LeapLife, and now this?

tlife is overrated, but at least it is one of the better rules within 2 transitions from Life, and was discovered before major CA software supported Hensel notation, at which time any rule not outer-totalistic would have been one of the best...

I've long been wanting to complain about LeapLife. Except for the fact is has a small knightship, it's not really different from some random Life variant. Yet it is now one the most famous OCA in history, on par with or even surpassing Snowflakes, and is now
The Third Most Apg-ed Isotropic Non-totalistic Rule. You might find it interesting, but here's the truth:
Any rule, boring or not, that is not fundamentally limited, will be interesting after heavy development.

There is nothing that would make B3/S23-a5 any different from a rerun of LeapLife's history, maybe even worse.
Even after such heavy development, you'll find it to be still unable to compete with certain less developed rules such as this and this.
However, if you scroll through the many pages of the OCA forum you'll eventually realize that the seemingly amazing rules in the two links above is nothing more than "ordinary" stuff in the world of OCA, let alone relatively uninteresting Life variants like this.

So even if you're going to use the patched CatForce on a Life variant, please at least choose something actually suitable for conduits, for example:

B3/S23-a5 has barely been discussed on discord. A couple of synthesises and conduits have been investigated there, but the vast majority of the work has been done on the forums.

Discord requires users to be 13. Since your age is listed as 11 on this forum (the forum has no age requirement), you were banned from the Discord server. You can rejoin when you turn 13.

The forum and Discord aren't actually connected. In fact, you need a forum account to see people's ages here, so someone must have notified a Discord server mod. (I personally would have done nothing and allowed you to stay, since there's no way Discord would have had access to your forum profile.)

You would need to change your actual age, not your displayed age, to get unbanned.

Per a conversation in the “Discord might become bad soon” thread in the server, can someone use tools (like DiscordChatExporter) to export the entire history of messages in the Conwaylife Lounge server and dump it on GitHub (or GitLab)? Currently it is possible, but it is likely that if Discord were to ever go public, such tools would be locked down. Additionally, this would solve the problem of Discord citations not easily being accessible as you have to log in to see them.
