Are there any life oscillators which aren't p2 that run backwards in some standard range-1 rule?
What's the most complex/highest period on known if so?
Currently working to improve Life's guns and work on updating SKOPs and Isotropic rules most similar to B3/S23 to Life standards. Will get software to begin searches eventually.

Period 2 because the smallest possible period 3 and 4 oscillators are far larger than that.

1. How to apgsearch custom ruletables? I've looked through LifeWiki pages, conwaylife.com forum pages, apgsearch documentation, and lifelib documentation without finding anything. (I know that when apgsearching custom rules, the rule's name must start with x.)

2. What programs can I use to search for spaceships and oscillators in INT rules? I know of qfind (only orthogonal spaceships), rlifesrc, and apgsearch.

1). Save the ruletable file in your apgmera directory with a normal name. Then, run:

./recompile.sh --rule <ruletable file name> <other arguments>
apgsearch will do the remaining steps for you. Note that if you apgsearch a custom rule, the soups will only have state 1 cells, so keep that in mind.
2). You can use ikpx2 to search for spaceships. For oscillators, you can use ofind, but it requires quite a bit of manual configuration, and for high-period or large oscillators, apgsearching higher symmetries is the best method.

At this moment, that page indicates that nobody has contributed search results for this specific rule yet. This may change now that attention has been drawn to this rule! Or it may have already been seen (I haven't gone hunting in Catagolue) in some other rule where it also works. There are 65536 compatible rules in all, I think. See the above link for the range of rules.

Out of the 256 non-B0 totalistic self-complimentary rules, only 94 of them may have spaceships. How many do?
I eliminated all of B23/S0, or B1, or S01234, or none of B123.
Can someone provide a known example in each rule?

Is there a generalized method for finding replicator-based spaceships such as ones in HashLife? I want to try making one of my own some day as it seems easier than things such as caterpillars and the like.

How do I begin making multistate rule files?
For example, say that I want to make a rule with state 0-10, each single cell other than 0 being a photon traveling in a respective direction (1: top-left diagonal, 2: top orthogonal, 3: top-right diagonal, 4: left orthogonal, 5: stationary, 6: right orthogonal, 7: bottom-left diagonal, 8: bottom orthogonal, 9: bottom-right diagonal).
How do I make a rule file with that step-by-step, and is there a way to visualize live what I'm doing?

Oh, ok.
Check Tutorials/Creating custom rules on the Wiki; it's really helpful and it's how I learned how to make rule tables. I'm honestly not good enough at explaining to do it myself. :|
